Catch me up!

So it's been almost a year since I blogged. I truly have good intentions but just never "make the time" to commit to blogging. Much has happened since last February and Raegan has grown so much! Most recently, Raegan turned 2, uncle Dustin moved to Texas to go to school, and Raegan had a little surgery on her belly button. I cannot believe she is 2! It seems like yesterday we were bringing her home from the hospital. She is growing up so fast a learning so much all the time!
Christmas was fabulous this year! She was so into it and though she may not yet truly understand the meaning, she can tell you it's all about Jesus' birthday. Her very persistent wish for a "pink jeep" came true and she LOVES it!!!

Bows...my latest obsession

It's almost 10:30 but I'm so keyed up from a not so great day at work that I just have to share these two things.

First of all, we got our first and probably only snow of the winter. Of course we were off Monday for President's Day but it was still quite lovely to get my snow fix! Raegan loved "seeing it" from the window behind the sofa.

And then there's this:
When Raegan was born I became obsessed with Etsy.com. In that, I thought that I could be the bow making mommy so I took it upon myself to begin making her bows and was quite good at it. However, I let it rest awhile when went back to work and recently thought I'd do some research to start it up again. Thanks to pinterest....I'm a very proud bow making mommy. Now I just need more ribbon:)

Catching up...

Long time, no blog! It's been awhile but I've been swamped with the stuff of life. Let me catch you up.....
On January 17th I got a phone call from my sitter.....who we LOVE, LOVE, LOVE! She says to me that Raegan has fallen and her head is bleeding pretty badly so she wants me to take a look. Okay I'm thinking, it's a workday so we agree that she will swing by. You could literally push the gash together. I knew when a teacher friend who never worries said to take her to the doctor, we were in for it. So, five stitches , and the worst pediatrician visit ever later, we made it home. I obsessed the entire week about how it would look. I prayed A LOT! She was quite happy though as you can see.

Then came the day for removal...finally! This would be my first time taking her to the doctor alone, yes I'm a little spoiled. I also made the foolish choice to have her 15 month checkup on this same day. Poor baby....2 hours, 5 stitches less, 2 thigh, and 1 arm shot later we were at Target for an "I'm sorry sweet baby girl" shopping session and a prescription for the double ear infection she had.

Well, that was just week 1 since my last post. Since then I've been sick, she's had a cold and rash with fever, and daddy has bronchitus. This mommy and teacher needs a SNOW DAY!

Now, there's light at the end of my tunnel. Valentines' Day was Tuesday. Raegan woke up with me at 6 a.m. and thoroughly enjoyed her sweethearts day toy. It was a great day that ended with the daddy bringing home dinner and roses after his doctor visit....such a sweet daddy!

A Cookie...what a blessing

This Wednesday brings rain and the cold weather we should be having in January.  Raegan has a new word....cookie. Watching her knock on the oven door screaming cookie has been the highlight of my week. And as I watched her eating that cookie like I've never fed her a day in her life, I was reminded of just how blessed I truly am. Blessed because she's healthy and happy and because I can share something so simple as a chocolate chip cookie, of which half ended up on her face and clothes:), with her. Blessed because I know that not all children have that luxury, yes I called it a luxury....and a blessing. Happy hump day all!

Day One

After lots of blog stalking and a huge build up of excitement....I've decided to become a blog mom:) I'm new to the idea of writing down your thoughts, but I'm excited about sharing my wonderful world of everyday blessings.

It's a typical lazy day Saturday at our house with Raegan napping and me taking this time to breathe... aka flop on the sofa. I need this time after I managed to smoke up the entire house trying to make peas for lunch. How you ask, it's because I am the champion of boiling over a pot on my flat top stove. I'll clean it later.....
